Android commands two third of the global tablet shipments in Q1, 2014

Over 57.6 Million tablets were shipped worldwide in the first quarter (Q1) of 2014 according to the latest research by a global market research company Strategy Analytics. Android continued its surge in the global tablet shipments with 65.8% share, up by 12.8% YoY. Android now commands two thirds of the global tablet market share with a total of 37.9 Million shipments in Q1, 2014. Apple iPad (IOS) shipments were below expectations as it dipped to 28% of the total shipments when compared to 40% in Q1, 2013. Windows secured a 6% market share.
