Twitter, the microblogging platform today announced in a tweet on its official twitter account for support that the platform will be now supporting GIFs in a tweet on web, android and iPhone. Twitter joins Google & Pinterest, the other social networks which already support posts with GIFs, however on twitter the users will have the control of play, pause of GIFs. It is also important to note that the GIFs won’t play live in the stream, the user can play a GIF by clicking on start button. Twitter converts the user uploaded GIF into MP4 format giving users an option to play and pause.
Starting today, you can share and view animated GIFs on http://t.co/wJD8Fp317i, Android and iPhone. http://t.co/XBrAbOm4Ya
